Happy First Day of... Spring???

Really?  It's -19C out there.  With the wind chill it's -32.  At least there's blue sky this morning.

We've had more snow since the other day.  It's now official: Regina has had a record snowfall this year.

I'm ready for spring.  This isn't it!

Cleaning off the craft table

I haven't sewn for almost 11 months.  I became addicted to wool, and my sewing machine has sat packed up and unused since I took a workshop at the end of last April.

Balls and skeins of yarn slowly began taking over the top of my table.  And then I started spinning, and fibre and spindles joined the mess.

And now my craft table looks like this

And the other end of it

And I'm not going to show you what the rest of the room looks like!

So my goal for the next few days is to clean up, just a bit at a time, so that I can set my machine up and start sewing again.  I know that sewing is therapeutic for me, so by the end of this week I want to be working on something.

No More Snow!

We keep hearing that, in spite of all the snow we've got this winter, this has not been a record snowfall.

That's sort of hard to believe, when you look out your door to this:

The fence has now disappeared.  Poor Penn just sinks down into the snow.

Good thing he has Ciara to break trails for him.

Just for comparison, here is how it looked this time last year.

First day of spring is next week...will spring ever come?

Still alive...

It's been a rough winter.

I've been battling with the depression and anxiety, and it's been winning. I'm slowly coming out of it, but it's been an uphill battle all the way.  My interest in things has been lacking.  As a result I haven't been taking pictures like I was, I haven't quilted since last spring, and obviously I haven't been blogging.  I have been knitting; my current obsession is socks.

Penn has been a joy in my life through this.

Hopefully, things will get better soon.
