Even though I haven't done any updates for two weeks, I have been working on my spinning for the Tour de Fleece. I'm getting close to finishing the spinning.
The cop on my spindle is getting really heavy! There isn't much fibre left to spin, so I'm hoping that I'll be finished by the end of the week. Then I need to oil my spinning wheel and ply the yarn.
The Tour ends on Sunday. I might still meet my goal, but if I don't, that's okay. I started spinning again and enjoyed the process. That's the main thing.

Sunday Funny--This one is so true
it hurts!
I have made progress on my TdF project; I'm almost close to finishing spinning the fibre. I'll have some pictures up later this week.
Check out my friend Susie's blog today. Another friend, Lindsay, has written a review of Turkish Spindles. She's also having a give away on her own blog! These ladies are so talented and a source of inspiration.
This is the link to Susie's blog, and here is the link to Lindsay's blog. Tell them Maureen sent you!

Soccer Sunday
I intended today to get some sewing done, since it wouldn't be too hot in my craft room. But then I started watching the final game of the World Cup, and there went my plans! I wasn't actively cheering for either team since my team was long ago eliminated.
I did get some sock knitting done, and I might still go into the craft room after supper and sew a bit. I'm wanting a small pouch for my purse to put my lip gloss in since I'm forever losing it in the depths.
How was your Sunday?

TdF Day Three
Last evening Team Golden Willow (and friends) had a kickoff supper at the Wok Box. We had a great time, spinning, knitting, eating, and chatting. This is the second year we've had a kickoff supper. It was fun checking out everyone's spindles and fibre. I was having such a great time that I forgot to take any pictures!
I've been meeting my goal of spinning every day. The cop was getting too heavy to keep spinning...the yarn was breaking on me. I took my ball winder with me to work today, and at lunch time wound the yarn off my spindle.
This ball weighs about two ounces, so I'm about half way done my fibre. I've started a new cop.
If I keep up at this rate, I'll easily meet my goal this year.
What fibrey things have you done today?

Ready, Set, Spin!
Today is the start of the Tour de France. For spinners around the world that means its the start of the Tour de Fleece!
Spinning wheels and spindles are now whirling while spinners are creating lots of lovely yarns. Teams are formed, mostly on Ravelry, and goals are set. (You're a knitter and not on Ravelry? Get over there! It's free to join and a wonderful resource for knitters and crocheters!)
The team I am on is called Team Golden Willow (after our favourite LYS). Our team is fairly laid back when it comes to setting goals; set your own goal and just have fun!
My goal this year is to simply spin a little bit every day. I'm using my Tabachek top whorl spindle, and this lovely fibre I got in March from The Wacky Windmill. It was for a March Spin-a-long, but I didn't get started on it until later. I've been puttering at this for a couple of months now, and would like to get it finished by the time the Tour ends.
This picture was taken yesterday at lunchtime.
I might get my spinning wheel oiled and going too. I haven't used it since last year, but I'm feeling like I might get it going again.
