One Week Later

And all the leaves are gone from the tree.

The condo yard keepers were busy cleaning up the fallen leaves.  The tree looks kind of sad now.

WIP Wednesday--September 28 2016

Happy Wednesday!  It's a beautiful fall day today.  The sun is shining, and there is just the touch of coolness in the air that separates a summer day from a fall day.

My daisy bush is flowering.  When I came home from work yesterday, it was full of bees flitting from flower to flower getting some more food before winter comes.

I've finished up a Hitchhiker scarf this week; it only needed binding off.  I'll show that on Friday.  Most of my work has been on the socks I started last week.

The first sock is done, and I'm working on the leg of the second sock.  I'm hoping that I can finish it by the end of the weekend.

Sunday Funny and My Made in Canada Purchases

Happy Sunday!

Thankfully the weatherman was wrong, and it didn't rain all weekend.  But did it come down yesterday!  Today, though, there are blue skies.

Yesterday was the Etsy Made in Canada Market.  Local Etsy sellers all across the country were gathered to sell their products.  The Regina sale was held at the University of Regina Research and Innovation Centre Atrium.  There were a lot of people in attendance.  This picture was taken later in the day taken by one of the Etsy Team members.

I went to the sale first thing in the morning.  I went straight to The Wacky Windmill's booth and bought these lovely items:

The braid of fibre is 100% BFL in a colourway called Prairie Skies.  The blue gradient yarn is 75% superwash merino 25% nylon in a colourway called Sand Beneath My Toes, and the yellow gradient is the same 75/25 blend in a colourway called New Beginnings.

I'm already thinking of what pattern I could use for the blue gradient.  I'm thinking of a shawl, maybe the Sock Knitter's Shawl?

Friday Finishes

Happy Friday!  It's raining here today, and according to the weather forecast we'll have rain all weekend.  Perfect excuse to binge on Netflix and knit!

I've finished off a couple of older WIPs in the last couple of weeks.  Both are socks, and I'll be putting them in the Guild sale.

The first pair is made from Knit Picks Felici in the Baker Street colourway.

They're a woman's size large (North American size 9.5 and up).

The second pair is made from Knit Picks Stroll Fingering in the Country Fair Hand Painted colourway.

The colours didn't come out well in this picture.  It's shows the yarn as bluer.  It's actually perfect autumn colours; oranges, browns, greens, yellows.  They're a woman's size medium (North American size 7.5 to 9).

Have a great weekend!

My Calendar Says Today is the First Day of Fall

Though it's been feeling a bit like fall for a little while now.  Not so much that I've quit wearing my birks in place of socks and shoes, but enough that I've gone from capris to pants.

There's a couple of beautiful signs of Fall right outside my condo.  In the back, when I let the dogs out I see this tree.

It's already lost some of its leaves, but in the evening light it just glows.

And then out my front door, there's my daisy bush.  It develops buds when the weather turns cooler, and then the flowers burst open.

The bees love these flowers.  On a nice day, the bush will just be buzzing with the bees getting another feed before it gets too cold.

I have to admit that Fall isn't my favourite season, but I do love to see the trees turn colour and my daisies bloom!

WIP Wednesday

I've got a lot of WIPs on the needles right now, but these are the ones I'm focusing on right now.

First up is a pair of socks.  I started these yesterday.  The yarn is Knit Picks Felici, and the colourway is called Candy Jar.  I love working with Felici.  It's a superwash merino/nylon blend; so it's nice and soft and wears well.

The plan is for these to go into the Regina Weavers and Spinners Guild sale in October.  If they don't sell they'll either go into the Etsy shop I keep saying I'm setting up or they'll go on my feet.

The other thing I've been working on is a mitred square blanket. This one is going to be a long term project.  I started it last December, and have been plugging away at it.

(Don't look too close at the carpet, I didn't vacuum it yet this week!)

There are twenty squares to a row, and I'm working on the twelfth row.  I think I'll need to knit at least twenty four rows in order to finish it.

Sunday Funny

Can't believe it's been a whole year since I posted anything on here!  No promises, but I'm going to try and get better at it.  Since it's Sunday, here's a funny!

And because I haven't done this for a while, here's another!

Hope you're having a wonderful Sunday!
